TENOR SAXOPHONIST
JULIA LEWANDOWSKI
Why are the arts important? Why do I do the work I do? Simple. Because if I am not playing or performing, I want to be able to support those who do. Dancers, actors/actresses, visual artists, musicians, these are the people who dedicate themselves to a craft that is bigger than themselves. They are crafts that can be enjoyed at any point in life - by the young and the old - which is why arts need people who are passionate about supporting programs and organizations that educate and give opportunities to the public.
This page functions as a portfolio of administrative work I have done for employers and in my coursework at UW - Milwaukee.
THE AMERICAN THEATRE GUILD
I Keep track of advertising expenses for Broadway shows in 14 different markets, create and organize invoices and expenses using Microsoft Excel to send to press agents and company managers, edit 30 and 15 second TV/radio commercials using Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro, and assist senior team members with other tasks as they arise.
CHICAGO CULTURAL ALLIANCE
As a Membership and Development Intern, I worked closely with the Member & Donor Engagement Manager to manage donor records and constituent accounts in NeonCRM, participated as a team member for Activating Heritage and the Annual Fundraising Gala, assisted in the creation of the 2021 Annual Fund pitch to the Board, recorded minutes for Audience Engagement Committee meetings, researched virtual fundraising platforms, gift box features and prices, and reached out to companies for silent auction gift basket donations. I also worked as an Executive Assistant by assisting the Executive Director in scheduling meetings through Calendly.
SKYLIGHT MUSIC THEATRE
As I focus on supervising the box office team and learning the Tessitura Network, I also provide support to the marketing department when asked. Here is the Skylight Sings Virtual Playbill I helped update for their 2020 virtual show.
MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
As a Development Ambassador, it is my job to assist the development department. Click here to see samples of the Giving Tuesday email campaign I helped write that raised $3k in donations.
SHARON LYNNE WILSON CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
My work here mainly consisted of assisting the Artistic Director with projects, but I managed the WC Instagram account.
WILSON CENTER GUITAR FESTIVAL
As the Social Media Assistant for the Wilson Center Guitar Festival and Competition, I was given the task of reviving their Instagram and Twitter pages. I also was in charge of interviewing sponsors and panelist guests and publish them in the form of videos and blog posts.
MILWAUKEE CHILDREN'S CHOIR
Started the MCC blog by featuring students who exemplified high standards of classroom behavior, leadership, and musicianship. Here is an introductory blog post of the Interim Executive and Artistic Director, Erick Jacobson. I also created a marketing plan as a "final" in order to complete my internship for credit through UW - Milwaukee.
UW - MILWAUKEE COURSEWORK
I created a campaign to increase the sales of cinnamon rolls by promoting the efforts taken by using sustainability-sourced cinnamon. This campaign includes a creative brief, a press release, a fact sheet, a social media plan, 7 Instagram posts, and 4 Pinterest posts. Click here to view the entire project.
Working with a partner, we created materials for RITZ Cracker's new product, Crisp & Thins. My partner focused on copywriting and I focused on design.

As a group project, we were to come up with a campaign to raise awareness for UW - Milwaukee's on-campus planetarium and the upcoming shows it was hosting. I focused mainly on the public relations portion, working on a social media plan with 6 Twitter posts and a press release.
